Dear Timothy, Thank you for all this. My husband is one of Hazel Austin's grandchildren (I never met her alive but I went to her funeral!) By all accounts she was quite a woman, working at the local paper (Middlebury Register/Addison Independent) forever while raising 13 children, as she was widowed when the youngest was still a baby. I had heard from my sister-in-law that Carroll Tyler was her father, but I haven't done any legwork on it and your census info is wonderful. As an aside, the Austins lived in Weybridge next to the cemetery. One of Hazel's children died in the cemetery. They were playing some hide-and-seek game or something and a headstone fell on her and crushed her, or at least injured her and she died later. I know this Austin info is not pertinent to your line (genealogy terms? I'm new) but I appreciate you putting it out there. Notify Administrator about this message?
