I found one more entry for Joseph H Wedge in Worcester, MA city directory 1867. Therefore it appears he went back to MA after the war, but left between 1867-1870.
As I wrote in my first post I got the parents of Benjamin from his death record:
deaths in Worcester MA 18 August 1889,volume 402 page 604
email me at home and I will get you a copy of it.
