Hello Jim: Thank you for the very useful information on Moses Gould. In fact, I was in the Chelsea VT town clerk's office earlier this month and learned that Moses Gould was from Tunbridge VT (but I did not have time to drive over there to look for records). The listing for his death noted that his mother's name was Lois King, but his father's first name is absent, i.e. "---- Gould". I wonder if that line indicates the same first name, Moses, of if the name was forgotten by the children? Moses Gould died March 1, 1881, in Chelsea, age 71 years, 5 months, 0 days. Also, Judith Elkins seems to have first been Judith Scribner. She died October 16, 1895, age 87 years, 4 months, 10 days. Moses Gould was a farmer.
