George Tuttle b. 1844 VT (son of Elias Smith & Lois King Tuttle) mrd. (1) Emerline M. King, mrd. (2) Helen L. Bedell.

Seeking information on Helen L. Bedell Tuttle. Helen L. Bedell may be Helen Luella Clough Dexter Bedell Tuttle. Helen Luella (dtr. of Bailey & Lydia Stevens Clough) b. 1839 Bath, NH mrd (1) George A. Dexter b. abt 1839 NH, mrd. (2) ? Bedell (may be Charles b. VT), mrd (3) George Tuttle b. 1844 VT.

The only Helen L. Bedell found before marrying George Tuttle is one enumerated in 1870 Norwich, Windsor, VT: Charles Bedell age 22 born VT; Helen L. Bedell age 24 born NH, Charles W. Bedell age 3 born VT, Lillian R. Bedell age 1 born VT. This family CANNOT be located in the 1880 census but believe Charles may be son of William & Serena (Syrena) Smith Bedell. All other Charles Bedell’s of the approximate age were thoroughly researched and proven not to be this Charles enumerated in the 1870 census. The Helen L. Bedell who married George Tuttle may NOT be the wife of Charles Bedell, but is the only possibility so far in our search. Helen L. Tuttle’s internment record in Horse Meadow Paupers is posted at RootsWeb.com stating birth 2 May 1839, death 15 Sep 1915. There is also a posting in the same interment records for Center Haverhill Cem. at RootsWeb.com for Lillian I. Bedell b. 22 May 1869, d. 29 Mar 1904 (many females were listed under their maiden name and often did not have a spouse or parents listed with the record). This Lillian Bedell may NOT be the Lillian Bedell enumerated with Charles & Helen L. Bedell in 1870 census. Census searches in 1900 for Lillian b. 1869 have been inconclusive.

George & Helen L. Tuttle are enumerated 1900 & 1910 in Newbury, Orange Co., VT. Helen states in 1900 being married 3 times with 7 children born and 3 living; and George has been married twice. Helen L. stated in the 1910 Newbury, Orange Co., VT census that only 1 child was living. Helen Luella Clough Dexter had one living daughter, Georgia Anna (Georgianna) Dexter b. 8 Oct 1862 d. 11 Oct 1930; married Elmer W. French b. 28 May 1863 d. 19 Nov 1940. Elmer & Georgia Anna lived in Haverhill, Grafton, NH. Elmer W. French is son of Andrew J. & Mary F. (Titus) French.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
