Hi Gail, I first found the family in the 1883 Clark County, Washington Territorial Census. C. C. Lowery, b, KY, abt. 1849, farmer; P. J., 30 yrs old, b. TN, wife,; Wm. L., b. IL, 9; Sarah, b. IL, 7; J. M., dau, b. IL, 5; George, b. IL 3 and N. P., son, b. 1/4, Washington Territory.
Then they appeared on the 1887 Clark County, Wash. Terr. Census. C. C., 37 yrs old; Camille, wife, 35; Wm, 13; Sarah, 11; Jeannette, 10; George, 10; Sam, 5, b. IL, Maggie, 3, WA and Minnie, b. WA, 0.
Then Columbus and Parmellia and Clyde appear on the 1920 Harney, Clark Co., WA Census. Columbus, b. KY, 69 yrs old, general farmer; Purmellia J., b. TN, 61; Clyde D. b. WA, 27, single, laborer home farm.
I found son William L. Lowery on the 1920 Census living in Vancouver, Clark Co., WA with wife Florence E, 30 yrs old and dau Gladys, 15.
A William L. Lowery died 29 Nov 1954 in Vancouver, Clark Co. WA; age-81, est. birth year abt. 1873 per death cert #19378. Source: WA Death Index 1940-1996.
You can request a copy of his obit from Washington State Library, www.secstate.wa.gov/library/ask.aspx. They charge depending on how much time it takes to find the obit in the newspaper microfilm but I've never been charge when I've told them where and when the person died. However, they are about two weeks behind so you might want to contact Clark County Gen. Soc, www.ccgs-wa-.org and see how much they charge and when you can expect to receive a copy.
Son George Washington Lowery lived at 1107 Franklin, Vancouver, Clark Co. when he filled out his World War Draft Reg. card. He was b. 30 Oct 1879 and worked in the Ship (tool room) Yard, Skanlifes Constr. Corp., Steel Yard, Foot or Fort Vancouver, Clark Co. Nearest relative-Neva Lowery, wife, address same as above. George was medium height, slender build with blue eyes & light colored hair.
Margaret Alice Lowery was born 20 Aug 1918 in Clark Co. Father's name=George W. Lowery; Mother's name=Neva Ball. Source: WA Births, 1907-1919.
In 1920 George and family were living in Vancouver. George W., b. IL, 40 yrs old, clerk conf. store; Neva, wife, b. CO., 27; Vernon, b. WA, 16; George, b. WA, 8 and Margaret, b. WA, 1 5/12th.
