Hi Ron,

Thank you for taking an interest in my inquiries and for all of your work! I am excited that you found some land records and I will check them out immediately.

Yes, there are many changes in my various posts as time went on. I have been searching for this family for over 10 years! When I first started, I only had family lore to go on. In the last month, I have made some headway with some First Source documents. Here is as I know it today:

George Washington Caskey b: Abt. 1852 in IN (from Various Census Records d: Abt. 1917 in Warren Co, IA (family folklore - NO records found. I think that he may have died in WA State, based on the fact that he was on the 1910 Fruit Vally Census). He married Harriet "Hattie" C Heacock b: 07 Jul 1867 in Madison County, IA       m: 26 Jun 1882 in Warren Co, IA       d: 1943 in Young Cemetery, Madison Co,IA. (Several First source records for her.)

George and Harriet Caskey divorced in 1895, in Madison County, IA (Old newspaper article - big news scandal in those times with a divorce and as George was the Post Master. It was about that time that George flead to WA State with his two sons (per living 93 year old relative). He married 2nd to Lydia ? (listed as wife on 1910 WA Census.)

George's two sons were Jessie Benjamin Caskey       b: 17 Mar 1883 in Blue Ridge (Census Record for location only), Harrison County, MO d: 1917 (Two different family stories - both stories say that he drowned, but two different locations - Walla Walla or Lake Manawa in IA.)

We do not know Jesse Caskey's first wife or marriage date nor location. He had one son by this marriage - Ernest "Orville" Caskey b: Nov. 2, 1903 (No records). My husband's mother remembered meeting her half brother just once around 1918.

Jesse's 2nd marriage was to Bertha Jane Boggs b: 18 Oct 1882 in Osceola, Polk County, NE (Census Records) m: 1904 in Council Bluffs, IA (Family lore - no record yet)d: 18 Jun 1914 in Lincoln County, WA (I mailed away for the official Death Record last week hoping for additional information.)

Jesse and Bertha Boggs children, per family lore, were all born in Omaha, NE. I have Never found any of their birth records in NE. I have a feeling that they were all born in WA, but can not find any proof. Bertha died within two weeks after the last child was born in Lincoln County, WA (family lore said she died in child birth - based on the date, it was most likely complications from child birth.)

As the story goes, when their father Jesse "drown" about 1917, they were all put on a train and sent to live with their mother's brother's family in Council Bluffs, IA (True as I found them on 1920 & 1930 IA Census listed as neices to the Boggs.)

Children of Jesse & Bertha (Boggs) Caskey:

Edith Viola Caskey       b: 29 Apr 1905 in Omaha, Nebraska (No record) d: 21 May 1908 in Omaha, NE       (No record)

Ella Hattie Caskey       b: 20 Jun 1907 in Omaha, NE (No record       d: 21 Sep 1978 in Chicago,IL (Confirmed

Edie Caskey       b: 20 Jan 1908 in Omaha, NE (No record found)

Effie Elizabeth Caskey       b: 20 Jan 1908 in Omaha, Nebraska (No record found) d: 28 May 1911 (No record found)

Edna "Stella" Caskey       b: 20 Mar 1911 in Omaha, NE (No record found)       d: 13 Mar 1982 in Council Bluffs, IA (Confirmed)

Elsie "Pearl" Caskey (My husband's mother)b: 28 Nov 1912 in Omaha, NE (Delayed Birth Record Only - Even she was always suspect of her birth location) d: 13 Jul 1999 in Seneca Falls, Seneca County, NY (Confirmed)

Eva Bertha Caskey b: 02 Jun 1914 in Washington (No record found) She was adoped by the Norris Family of Council Bluffs, IA (Census record) d: in San Mateo, CA (Confirmed)
George's youngest son was Amza Orville Caskey. I have many First Source Records on Amza's family. He was b: 10 Nov 1888 in Fremont, NE (Multiple Source Records)d: 12 Sep 1965 in Vancouver, Washington. He married Stella Cordelia Parsons       b: 21 May 1889 in White Salmon, Klickitat, Washington m: 16 Jun 1910 in Vancouver, Clark, Washington d: 13 Aug 1942 in Vancouver, Washington

Amza's children (I'm not looking for any additional informtion on him. I just found his living 93 year old daughter-in-law and a grandson.)

Elizabeth Caskey b: 09 Aug 1911 in Vancouver, Washington
George Parsons Caskey       b: 04 Mar 1913 in Vancouver, Washington

Retta Lavina Caskey b: 28 Feb 1915 in Vancouver, Washington d: 07 Dec 1932 in Vancouver, Washington

Amza "Orville" Caskey, Jr. b: 11 Dec 1917 in Vancouver, Washington d: 15 Nov 1965 in Vancouver, Washington.
