Hi Ron, Another break through . . . I just found an on-line 1913 Klickitat County Plat Map. It shows that George W. Caskey divided up his 160 acres of land (the same land from the Homestead Act.) In 1913, he had 80 acres and his sons Jesse B. Caskey and Amza O. Caskey each had 40 acres. Do you know the history of how private land became part of the Gifford Forrest? I did read that in 1908 that it was the Columbia River Forest. Was there still private ownership of land or did the state or federal government take it by eminate domaine? If you can direct me to some resources, I would be grateful. Thanks again, Joanne
