Death Record look up Washington

I need help in locating a death certificate or info from the certificate for my greatgrandfather Adelbert Lamphier. Adelbert was born Dec 1856 in Indiana or Michigan, I have seen both places listed. The last record I can locate for him is in Seattle Washington. I found him on the Polk's Seattle City Directory for 1915 and then in 1916 and ongoing the only record is of his son William Lamphier. His wife Lovina moved back to Chicago in either 1917 or 1918 and is listed on the 1910 census as a widow. He is not listed on any death index for Ill. and also he is not buried there with her which is why I believe he died and is buried in Seattle, WA. Any help in locating the information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to anybody who can help.
