I'm not related to this family.

Lovina [aka- Vina] is listed in Chicago in the 1920 census not the 1910 census.

Have you considered that Adelbert may have simply abandoned the family or divorced Lovina?

It was not uncommon for a woman at this time period to call herself a "widow" under these conditions.
