I'd look in the Seattle phone book for the Methodist Episcopal church on Vashon Island. If it still exists, that's where I'd look for his church service records first. They should be able to tell you where their archives are stored.
Vashon Island doesn't appear to have a genealogical society. For additional info, I'd contact the Seattle Genealogical Society, www.rootsweb.com/ .
I'd also contact the Washington State Library for copies of their obits, www.secstate.wa.gov/library/ask.aspx . Provide the name, where and when they died. They will search the newspaper microfilm for 30 minutes at no charge & reply by email with what they find. Might take up to two weeks but the service is free! Successful Searching!
