Hello, Looking for information re J.H. Campbell who was a lawyer, in his early 20's, in Seattle in 1905. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina in the late 1870's and was often listed as "Henry Campbell", so I assume that the "H" is for Henry or Harry. His family were Irish immigrants to South Carolina. (Father Thomas, mother Annie Cahill.) His father had served in the military in Charleston, S.C. and then worked for the War Department in Washington, D.C., from about 1881 until 1905 when he died. Henry's mother died in Charleston around 1880- 1881 when he (Henry)was very young. One older brother Thomas Robert James Campbell; often listed as Thomas R. J. or T.R.J. Campbell was a stockbroker in Washington, D.C. until the late 1920's. His move to Seattle seemed out of the ordinary as the rest of his family seemed to remain in Charleston or Washington, D. C.. Henry also had an aunt Mary J. Cahill who was born in Charleston, but who moved to and worked in Washington, D.C. and who appears to have remained single all her life. I have combed through the census and data available on Ancestry, so I do not need any of that. Henry was still in Charleston, South Carolina in 1900, but by 1905 he was said to be in Seattle. He became a lawyer in Charleston and was then said to be a lawyer in Seattle. I have not been able to locate him after the reference to being in Seattle in 1905. (This reference came from a Washington Post article about his father's death in Washington, D.C. in 1905.) Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks to all for reading and considering. Thank you, Sharon Notify Administrator about this message?
