I have been trying for some time to research my family, and after reading your post, there might be a ray of hope for me.

I know that a Tobias Rieke b 3.20.1873 in Germany married a Margaret Verhoff and first settled in the Tacoma, Washington area after arriving in 1893. Shortly after, the family moved to Cleveland, OH. All I know are a few descendants from Tobias, but not much on any extended family he might have had.

I don't know how common the Rieke name is/was, but I would be interested to know where you started, and how you were able to get so much information from the German records.
