Annabel, Thanks for your response. I cannot tell from the information given whether there is a connection to this Thomas Stewart Moore. He was born in 1827/1830. However, a death certificate I came upon recently had a birthplace listed as Ireland. I am sure there is a connection back there someplace. The rumor has it that he was related to the Thomas Stewart More (Moore) that was beheaded by Henry VIII. This line goes back to Robert the Bruce of England--previously Scotland. There were Stuarts (Stewarts) in this line also, I believe. What are the dates of the folks you are referring to? I'm still relying on stabs in the dark, since I don't have any of the missing link that was said to be in Virginia. A wild feeling I have says his family came to the Chelsea area in Virginia, but I don't really know. Where are you from? Thanks again, Patricia
