Hi Sharon, I concur with you that Paul Palmer son of Richar and Matilda Palmer was born in IN, traveled to KS and settled in Whatcom Co., WA.
The best way that I've found to find descendants is to find obituaries of the person where descendants are generally identified and where they live. Also the funeral home is often identified and they can be a great source of family member info.
In order to order an obituary in WA you must know when and where the person died. I didn't find that info on Paul or many of his descendants.
The Whatcom County Genealogy Society, http://members.aol.com/whatcom59/wgs.html has quite a few obits on their web site. You could look through them.
His sister Cora Giles was born 13 March 1875, Kansas and died 26 May 1966, Napa Co., CA. Her mother's maiden name=Smith. Source: CA Death Index. However, I don't know how to get obituaries there. You could post a query on that Message Board.
An Albert L. Palmer died 9 May 1950, Age-82, Estimated Birth=abt. 1868 per death cert #8584. Source: WA Death Index 1940-1996.
You can request a copy of this obit from the Washington Library, www.secstate.wa.gov/library/ask.aspx . Provide them his name, death date & location. In 1930 he was living in East Lyman, Skagit Co., WA. They will search the newspaper microfilm for 30 minutes at no charge & reply with what they find.
I couldn't find anything else on Leander after 1910 when he was living in Garfield, Smith Co., KS.
In 1930 Theodore was living in Delta, Whatcom Co., WA. I didn't find him on the WA Death Index but my access doesn't have everyone listed. You need a volunteer to look him up on the WA Death index microfilm. It appears that there's a volunteer on Random Acts Genealogical Kindness, www.raogk.org, choose Washington, choose Whatcom County who will do this.
In 1930 Ernest was living in Delta, Whatcom Co. with three of his daughters. I'd try to find his death date through RAOGK or contact Whatcom Co. Gen. Soc.
A Marion Palmer Last Residence=Deming, Whatcom Co., WA was born 16 Feb 1877, Died November 1969. His soc. sec. # was assigned in WA before 1951. Source: Social Security Death Index. You could contact Washington Library and see if they can locate his obit or RAOGK and see if they can find his exact death date. Successful Searching!
