This is an interesting post. My great grandfather's older brother, Arnel Waage, served during the Civil War. Arnel was born in 1836. There is mention of it in the Askvoll Bygdebok, the parish records. He was wounded and returned to Norway. When he went back to the U.S. he took my GGF, Peter, along. My GGF Americanized his name to Wage. Do you know something about the Waage veteran you mention?
