Hello Melissa1, I would have sent an email to you but your email address says hidden, so I will post here and maybe you will stop back in soon. You mentioned that your ancestor claimed birth in Maine and Canada both...maybe it is because at one time Northern Maine the part where Aroostook County is located, was once actually part of Canada. I am unsure of the dates when it changed but that might be one reason for claiming both. Just thought I would mention it.
