Fred,
None of that sounds familiar, however, it sparks some interest. Johann Georg Waber 1703, wife Christiana, children, emigrated from the Palatinate, ship Hampshire, arrived Philadelphia 7 September 1748. Probably stayed there a year. Moved to Augusta County, VA, and virtually settled in that region for 250 years. His name was anglecanized to Weaver. Waber spelled with umlat (two dots) over the "a", pronounced Vay-ber. Specialists say this is either German or Swiss origin by spelling. The Johannes Waber I found in the NARA is probably not the same guy, primarily because he lived 1789; my Johann Georg Waber probably died 1767-1786. I am always intrigued in connection with simialr lines. Does any of this strike a cord?
In Christ, Gordy
