The original name of all the derivitives families of Waycaster, Wacaster, Wacaser or Wacasey or 74 different ways it has been spelled was Weckesser not Veckesser. In German the W is pronounced as a V. If it was Veckesser you pronounce as an F. The Weckesser family arrived Penn and settled in Germantown Penn. Then Jacob Weckesser moved to North Carolina first reported by 1775. From this time until 1800 the name stayed about the same. About 1800 the derivitives of Weckesser started to split depending on the family and how each spelled their name.
