I just received a death certificate for my ggrandfather Joseph Chapman b 3 apr 1869 d 4 Dec 1947
It list his parents as
Martin Chapman and Frances Waycaster
This is the first time I have ever seen a maiden name for his mother. Untill then I never even heard of this name.

Does anyone please have any info on Martin or Frances ? I have them in Springplace, Murray Co. GA. in the 1880 and 1870 censuses. I also have them in Dade Co. Ga. In the 1900 and 1910 census.

In the 1880 census it has a birth year of 1845
I was wondering if ths could possibly be a sister of your David?
