I live in Germany and as by the most german families emigrated a great-granduncle of me to North-America. His name was Joseph Wachter. He was born at 17. March 1850 in Ellhofen, a little village in the south of Germany. At an old picture of Joseph Wachter is written that he died about in the year 1917 in Plainfield/USA. The date of his emigration must be the year 1873. From Gerda Haffner/IGS Burbank, CA 91510, I get a copy from the "Schedule No.1 -Population of the year 1900". So I have the first document of the life from my great-granduncle in Chicago.
But I don't no any more. When does he died? Was he pour or rich? Does he has children? Is a grave from him perhaps existing today?
Can anyone help me to find more details of his life???
