Here's my BRICK WALL....... I am searching for my paternal grandfather, Harry Waddell. My father's birth certificate shows his name as Harry Kerr Waddell. He married my grandmother, Leah Faye Sears around 1909. The 1910 Census Whiteside Co, Fulton, IL show he & Leah as boarders- not man & wife, both born 1888-1889 in IL and having been married 1 year.. He deserted my grandmother & 2 children, (my father )Duane Sears Waddell and (my aunt) Phyllis Margaret Waddell about 1916 in NJ. Have not found any trace of him since ! Leah Faye Sears Waddell, the daughter of Charles W. & Mary Etta Penton Sears, appears in the 1920 and 1930 Jerseyville, Jersey Co, IL census. 1920 shows marital status of M and 1930 shows D. My father's Soc Sec App lists his father as Harry Kerr Waddell. My grandmother, father and aunt lived in the Jerseyville/Alton area until after WW II. My aunt married Allen Dale Inman in the late 1930’s who grew up in Jerseyville also. I believe my father told me his father had remarried and had several children. My father and aunt attended Jerseyville H.S. I am also looking for leads on my father’s previous marriages. Can’t find a Waddell marriage in any county around Jerseyville ! Appreciate any leads ! Regards, Leah Waddell Sandmeyer, Tulsa, OK Notify Administrator about this message?
