GEORGE W. WADDELL
FAIR BLUFF - George Wilton Waddell, 72, formerly of Tarboro, died Friday, May 12, 2006, at Columbus Regional Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Meares Funeral Home in Fair Bluff, with the Rev. Dr. Ray Lundy officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Powell Cemetery.
Waddell was the son of the late Aubrey June and Reba Cole Waddell. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.
Waddell is survived by his wife, Carolyn Waddell of the home; two daughters, Marilyn Waddell of Benson and Carol W. Ellerbe and her husband Tom of Conway, S.C.; a sister, Martha Frances Joyce of Raleigh; a brother, A. June Waddell of Fair Bluff; and a granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Meares Funeral Home.
