I have some info that was given to my Grandmother in 1960 that may be helpful to you. It does have Waddells that ended up in Winn Parish. I do have a Hugh Y Waddell but it shows that the two woman he married had the last names of Moore and Campbell. But Hugh appears to be a very common name with six Hugh's on the chart that I have. More information you have would be very greatful, as in dates, childrens names and brothers and sisters, if any.
Also I'm not sure if you've tried ancestry.com or not yet but they also have info on the Waddell family. Ancestry.com also has oneworldtree family trees that people have submitted for the Waddell family that might also be helpful to you.
One last thing, St. Maurice Cemetery in St. Maurice, Winn Parish has Waddells buried there.
