Thomas WADDELL late of this parish died 18 April 1821 aged 57. Left surviving by Mary his wife one son and 5 daughters viz: William, Mary, Jane, Elizabeth, Sarah and Eliza.
Although there is a two year age difference, the names of the wife and children surviving match.
Thomas married Mary Catherine Griegsby on 18 Mar 1793 in Dymchurch, Kent, England.

William seems to have been caught up in smuggling as were many in this part of Kent.

2. Peter Waddell, son of Thomas Waddell and Catherine Crease, was born in 1732 and died in 1812.
Peter married Jane Kingsnorth.
Children from this marriage were:

ii. Peter Waddell was born in 1762 and died 25th Feb 1812. Married Ann Hobbs 23rd Feb 1791 and had eight children.
iii. Ann Waddell was born in 1757. Married Richard Evans 9th July 1787.
iv. William Waddell was born in 1758 and died on 4 Oct 1784.
v. Jane Waddell was born in 1760. Christened 31st Aug 1760, Married Thomas Crothall 12th Nov 1778.
vi. John Waddell was born in 1764 and died in 1794. John is mentioned in his mothers will as being deceased in 1812, he Married Martha (surname unknown) c 1792 and had a daughter Martha in 1793 and a son John circa 1795.
vii. Richard Waddell was born on 13 Jan 1771. Married Jane Hobday 8th Nov 1802, they had eleven children. Richard was given seven years transportation to Hobart, Van Deimens Land (Tasmania, Australia) in 1824 for stealing six bushels of wheat. He died there at Oyster Cove in 1826.
viii. Sarah Waddell was born c 1770. Married George Heart on the 17th Apr 1792 and had two sons. After George Hart's death Sarah married John Scott on 11th Dec 1802.
3. Jane Kingsnorth, daughter of William Kingsnorth and Jane, was christened on 30 Jan 1737 in Bilsington, Kent. Died 24th May 1815.
Jane married Peter Waddell.
Jane held the first license with the Kent Quarter Sessions (No: Q/RLV/4/3 )on the White Horse (once called the
Chequers) in Bilsington in 1783/1790 and then her son Peter, in 1795/1797.

Johns will, dated the fourteenth day of September the eighth year of the reign of our sovereign George the second, King of England 1744.
A Kent Yeoman being sick and weak in body but sound in mind and memory.
It is somewhat difficult to read. But in general it leaves son Peter with home and lands, and to give his mother £4 per year for her life. £20 in money's each to Elizabeth & Jane his two Daughter's and to his Grandson Thomas Parham. Elizabeth to receive his copper kettle.
