By 1810, William has died, and the Family has moved to Mercer Co. Kentucky. On Nov. 4,1810, the boys have a step father, Cornelius Demaree, who their mother Mary Polly married. The boys will loose thier Mother within the next few years.
Cornelius Demaree's Family came to America prior to 1675. Cornelius G.G.G. Grandfather was Lord Desmaret of Cambray France. The Family escaped religious persecution in France by moveing to the Rhine river, then to the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam in 1663. They later moved to Hackensack New Jersey.
I have found that the Gilkeson Family and Demaree family belonged to the Dutch Reformed church of Schraalenburgh. I would guess that the Waddle's also belonged to this church. I found the families moved together, first from Va. then to Mercer Co. Kentucky, and then to Park Co. Indiana.

I also found that Thomas Gilkerson (Brother of Mary Polly's) became the guardian for both John and James. John was awarded to Thomas on April 1,1816, and James was awarded to Thomas on Oct. 7,1816, in Mercer Co. Ky.

I have found, that William and Mary (Polly) had a bond of Marriage in 1798 ( found in the annals of S.W. Virginia). The spelling for Waddle was Weddle.

Would love to connect with other on this Waddell line.
