I am also researching Alfred Waddle of Cedar County, Iowa. He was my ggg-grandfather, according to research done by my dad. He was not able to find Alfred's parents. I plan to follow up on the info which you mentioned.
I understand that Alfred was married on 19Jan 1850 to Nancy Southern, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Duncan). As far as I know, Alfred and Nancy had 4 children, 2 from Nancy before their marriage (Sarah 1840) and Virginia (b1849).
Alfred was previously married to Melvina Gleason on 7 Jun 1842, in Cedar County,Iowa.
Alfred had a son names Justis (Justes) who was born in 1843. After Alfred and Nancy were married, they had Charles M.Waddle, b. 8 Jan 1851 who married Sarah E. Arnold.
