Dee, very interesting. My line is descended from Gardner Ray Waddell, who came to Union County, IN via Butler County, OH from Kentucky in the 1920's. His was the first generation to change the spelling of the name from Waddle to Waddell. I wonder if the Waddle's you have in Union County, IN could be related, and that may be the reason for them choosing to come to Union Co. I would be very interested if you would post anything you have on these Waddle's in Union Co., IN back into the 1800's. Anything on the exact area where they settled? I'm located in the next county to the north of Union, and this is my grandmother's parents we are talking about(who came in the '20's). The thing is, they moved from KY to OH, had twins there, moved to Union Co., had another baby, moved back to OH, had another set of twins, then back to Union Co, had the rest of the kids. I asked where did they live with all this moving back and forth, and my grandma thought the only place they ever lived in Indiana was the same house, so I thought there might have been family settled here before them.
