1755 in a Granville Co.,NC deed record, there is a mention of a James Waddy. In 1779, there is a mention of a Spencer Waddy in Bute County record (Bute is formed from Granville after 1755-then becomes Franklin and Warren Cos).
In Spence/Spencer's will written 1824 Franklin Co., the following children are mentioned:
James
Benjamin
Sally (m. Edward Morris)
Judith (m. John McClanahan/McClenahan)
Nancy (m. ? Macon)
Jane (m. Gideon Edwards)
Elizabeth (m. Kedar Best)
Would like to compare notes with anyone researching any of these folks.
Believe that Spencer and James came to NC from Northumberland or Westmoreland Co VA but have no documented proof yet.
