Bruce, there could be not doubt that your William Franklin Wade was a relative, likely brother of my gg gf James A. Wade. I have attempted to collect as much info about William as I can to see if there is a lead to the father. And, I show his as an unproven brother of my James A., to make it easier to collect information.
Some of the older Wade's told me when I was young that James A. was the son of a Methodist minister and wonder if there was a tradition in your group. That have certainly been several ministers in later generations of Wade's. Also the tradition was that they were from "North GA," which could be anywhere. James A.'s daughter m a Donald, and James A. apparently moved to Bartow Co., GA for the 1880 census, but there has to more to why they moved.
My james A. Wade & his wife, Mary Elizabeth Thompson married in Greene Co., GA. I believe that they are connected to the Edward Wade, Revol. Soldier from VA that died in Greene Co.
I've seen the Willis family in Talbot Co., from time to time. My g Aunt Mattie Wade Gilbert m Henry Willis. Any info that you have about close family or persons connected with William might help.
