I have not done much work on my Wade family but in researching the wife of Judge Samuel Spencer of Anson Co., NC, I learned that he married Sybil Tisdale and Holden Wade married her sister, Lydia Tisdale and Joseph Spencer married a third sister, Sarah Tisdale.
Holden's father was Thomas Wade, a major player in the struggle for independence of the American Colonies from England along with Judge Sam Spencer, his close neighbor.
I don't yet know whether my Wades are related to those of Anson Co. My grandmother is Alice Wade whose father is Joseph R. Wade born 1851 in McNairy Co., TN. Joseph's father is Allen Wade born 1810 in North Carolina and that is as far back as I have learned.
Judge Samuel Spencer is a descendant of a line known as "the four brothers" who came to this country from England in the 1730's and settled in New England. From results of DNA studies comparing descendants of that line to my line, there is no common ancestor.
