Don, the name "Augustus" is certainly one used by descendants of Edward Wade, RS,b 1727 VA who d 1831 in Greene Co., GA.
Do you know what your Daniel's middle name was?

By the way, my Uncle was Daniel Wade Gilbert, g grandson of James A. Wade. Uncle Wade lived in Phoenix City, Al, during the latter part of his life.

My suggestion would be to look at the 1880 census of Brownsville, Lee Co., AL. There was a Daniel E. Wade b 1847 , 33, Shoe Maker, GA/NC/SC (so you are looking for someone that was b in GA, father b in NC, and mother in SC);
Mary E. 27 AL/GA/GA (She could be "Lizza," but she was born in AL per census. ???)
Nancy 2 AL/GA/AL

The 1900 census had Lizza Wade b June 1865, and the age estimates for the earlier census records often varied in age.

Augustus was a somewhat common name for several of Edward Wade, RS's descendants. I suspect that Robert August Wade was a bro of my James A. Wade in Talbot Co., GA. Robert Augustus was b bet 1830-1836 GA m 4 Dec 1855 in Talbot Co., GA Susan Caroline Smith, died in 1865 (War bet States) at Savannah, GA. I never found whether they had children.

There was another suspected bro of Robert Augustus and James A. Wade: William Franklin Wade b abt 1821 GA d White Hall, Grimes Co., TX (no date); he m Eliza A. R. Willis 29 Dec 1845 in Talbot Co., GA. Other Wade relatives of mine married into a Willis family in Talbot/Taylor Co., GA.

Some of my relatives migrated to Muscogee Co., Columbus, GA as the growing of cotton, etc., began to have problems in the first part of the 1900's. James A. Wade had two sons other than my John Cyrus Wade that I could not trace:
James b 1855 Talbot Co., GA & William b 1864 Talbot Co., GA.

Don't think I helped, but I'm still looking for James A.'s parents. I believe that he was a Methodist minister.

W. Ray Walker
