Wallace Wade was born Nov. 9th, 1840, at Farmersville, Cattaraugus Co., NY, and was married May 22nd, 1872, to FRANCES A. REMINGTON, of Stafford, Genesee Co., NY. He lived in China, NY, from 1841 to 1849. His parents went to Michigan in 1854. He enlisted as a private in the 3rd Michigan Infantry, in 1861, and was discharged in 1863, and soon after re-enlisted in Custer's brigade band, as 1st sergeant, with the Michigan cavalry, and remained until the close of the war. He returned to Arcade, Wyoming Co., NY, in 1867, and has served as the village as trustee, a member of the board of education and as village clerk from 1873 to 1879, one year excepted. From 1876 to 1879, he was editor of the Arcade Leader (newspaper), and is at present engaged in the wholesale cheese trade. -------------------------------------------- I am not researching this family, I have no further information to provide.
