My great-grandmother was the daughter of a George W Wade who emigrated from Canada (that's all I know is "Canada") to Michigan abt 1860s with his parents & siblings. I have them back to the 1870 US Fed Census at Saugatuck, MI. The patriarch is Dudley Wade, born approx 1819 in Canada; he lists his parents as both being born in England. His wife, Mary, was born approx. 1826 in Ireland (again, nothing more specific). This is where I've run into my brick wall. The only Dudley Wades I can find all seem to have been born in the US or have generations of ancestors in North America; I can't find any 1st generation Canadian Dudley Wades who emigrated to Michigan. I can't find any record of when & where Dudley or Mary died. I don't know Mary's maiden name. There are a few tantalizing clues of Dudley Wades in the right approximate time frame,in Michigan and in Ontario, Canada, but I feel like I'm trying to nail Jello to a wall - nothing solid sticks. I don't have any living relatives that I know who can tell me anything more about the Wade family.
Is there anyone out there who might have some information about this Dudley Wade?
