H.L. TalbotCO, Hamlin L.MonroeCo, ?Connect to James A. Wade

In the 1830 census of Monroe Co., GA, HAMLIN L. WADE is listed with one male under 5, 1 male 5-10; 3 females under 5 and one female 20-30.

In 1840, H. L. Wade was listed in the census of Talbot Co., GA, between Charles Evans and Isaac Brown: 2 males under 5: 2 males 15-20; 1 male 30-40; 1 female 5-10 & 1 female 30-40. H. L. was deceased by the 1850 census.

The 1850 census of Talbot Co., shows household # 759, Washington Wade 45; Frances 45; Amanda 6; May 4; Rebecca 1; Elizabeth Wade 51 & Susan Wade 48 (AGES WERE QUOTED WRONG IN INDEX) It is my opinion that Elizabeth was close kin and likely the mother of James A. Wade. The question is why wouldn't "Hamlin L." have appeared in names of children other than their son, Robert H. L. Wade, who moved to TX.

My ggg gf James A. Wade was b about 1820 probably in Greene Co., GA where he married in 1840 Mary Elizabeth Thompson, and they moved to Talbot Co., GA by the 1850 census.

James & Elizabeth named their 11 th & youngest child, "Robert H. L." Wade b ca 1867. Apparently she died in child birth.

James & Elizabeth named their oldest "Elizabeth J." b ca 1841 which could have been in honor of his living mother, as well as James' wife. The oldest son was named, John Cyrus b ca 1846, after Elizabeth's father; the next son was named James b ca 1854 which would be named after James A. himself.

Washington was apparently one of the 15 to 20 year olds in the 1840 census of H. L. Wade in Talbot Co., GA, and likely another brother of James A. Wade.

Is H. L., in Talbot Co., GA., in 1840, the Hamlin L. Wade in Monroe Co., in 1830? Was this H. L. a minister by chance in Talbot Co., GA?

Would appreciate any information that anyone can shed on this family, which I believe is part of the Edward Wade clan that settled in GA through Greene Co., GA.

W. Ray Walker
