Just spent 2 plus hours presenting info on the subject, and had computer blip, so I will do this in installments.

Benjammin 1750-1824, father of William L. Wade b 1775 d Nov 1827, Jasper Co., GA, m Sarah P. 1778-. Children of William & Sarah were: Catherine Wade; Sarah Wade; Hamlin Louis/Lewis Wade 1802-1859.

{My ancestor James A. Wade b ca 1820 m 1840 Mary Elizabeth Thompson in Greene Co., Ga and moved by 1850 to Talbot Co., GA. Their named his first son John Cyrus after her father John Thompson. He named his 2nd son James after himself; the third William (after his father or grandfather?); the 3rd and last Robert "H. L." Wade (after Hamlin Louis, a brother?)}

Hamlin Louis Wade b 1802 GA, d ca 1859 GA in ancestry.com sources, but believe that he died in Russell Co., AL. He m 22 April 1824 Syble Parker 1806-1846 in Hancock Co., GA. Children: Robert Augustus Wade 1836-1863; Milo Parker Wade 1839-; Sarah E. V. Wade 1842-; Louis C. Wade 1845-1858.

Hamlin m 2nd 3 Oct 1848, Bourbon Co., AL Elizabeth Pearce, and they had two more children: Thomas E. Wade 1850-1825; Hamlin Pearce Wade 1853 - 1931.

Hamlin was listed in the 1830 census of Monroe Co., GA, and by 1836 he had moved (per militia) to Talbot Co., NC.,for the 1840 census, and they had moved again before the 1850 census, one would assume to AL. Washington Wade which some sources said was probably Hamlin's son was not, as Washington is too old: 25 in the 1850 census of Talbot Co.,b 1825, and in the 1870 census he was b 1819. (That needs research.)

In any event, this means that Washington is still a likely brother of my James A. Wade, and Elizabeth 51 in the 1850 census of 1850 census could be Washington & James A.'s mother.

The Susan Wade 48 in the 1850 census household would have been Washington's Aunt. Note that Washington named his first child Amanda; James A named a child Amanda, and his first Elizabeth, which was also his wife's name (Mary Elizabeth).

Could not find Hamlin and Elizabeth in 1850 census records, but I believe that they were in AL. In the 1860 census of Russell Co., AL, Milo Wade 21 head of household (no parents) was listed with each of his younger 4 siblings; Robert Augustus was already off to the War Bet States service.

There was another H. L. Wade b 1815 OVERSEER, in Bourbon Co., AL in 1850 census. He was married to Mary b 1825, and had children: William b 1839 & James b 1841. It is interesting because of the names and that James A. Wade was an OVERSEER.

I believe that Hamlin was probably a brother or Uncle of my James A. Wade b ca 1820, and the missing information is his father who would have been named John, James or William, and less likely Robert.

Can anyone help? The connection to Hamlin is the first new trail showing a connection to my James A. that I have found in 30 plus years. Hope that someone can provide information. Thank you.

W. Ray Walker
