Looks to me that Joseph is George's child from Margaret Ball in Hereford, rather than Elizabeth Hughes in Newport (b North Nibley...do you know her maiden name?).
Spent time in Auckland in 1996...wish I'd known of you beforehand!
My descent is from Joseph+Hannah Jackson>Alfred Mathias+Amy Parkinson>Geoffrey York+Lydia.
Alfred gave both his sons place names as middle names: York * Farlingham...not sue of the significance.
