I do not believe that your William is connected to my relative William L. Wade.
In checking I see that your William L & Nancy were in the 1860 census, dated July 1850, in Harrison, Mercer Co., MO. He was 22, b in TN, and she was b abt. 1835 in IL. They had one child 10/12th which means she born in Sept. 1859.
Tried to see if he was in TN in 1850. Found two of the right age, but I believe that William L. might be the William 12 b TN living with Nancy Campbell 53 b VA, Susan 35 b TN , & Polly 19 b TN .
William was listed as clearly the only Wade, but he was listed written as household @ 203 also as an add-on to Nancy's household. Since Susan & Polly's last name was not listed, they may have been Wade's also.
Hope this can be of help. If you do know know William's paraents, you could try to look at the male Wade's in the 1840 census is TN who had a male child 0-5, but who did not appear in the 1850 county census in TN.
