Margaret, I apologize for now responding early. I had some things going on, and am just now beginning to be able to get back to family research. And, I need help, as I can't yet connect.

According to the Pearce GenForum, Hamlin m (would be 2nd wife) Elizabeth Pearce b 1815 prob GA d Mar 1859 Russell Co., AL.

Would you consider what I will put below, and tell me how you think that we can apply the three daughters you have with NANCY Wade in AL? to see if she might be 2nd wife "Nancy Elizabeth (Pearce)?" ???????

I believe our families are connected, but it will take info from AL records to approve it. Further, Hamlin Louis/Lewis Wade b 1802 GA moved to AL from Talbot Co., GA after the death of his wife abt 1846.

A source in acestry.com said that Hamlin's wife (1st wife) Syble Sibbie Parker Wade d in 1846, referencing according to an article in the Southern Recorder Newspaper, Milledgeville, GA issue of Jan 1847 (don't know why Milledgeville, but a member of the family could have reported that after she learned of Sibbie's earlier death, which could be earlier than 1846.).

It is miraculous that I have been able to put together as much as I have, as I have had to use the very tiniest bit of info to lead me to what I have, as this is the period that there are very few records. I descend from (?JAMES) Wade, brother of the William L. Wade b SC, who was father of Hamlin Lewis Wade b 1802 GA d 1827 Jasper Co., GA.

William's mother was likely a "Hamlin"(d abt. 1802 GA)who was 1st wife of Benjamin b 1750 VA d 24 Sept 1824 Jasper Co., GA.

William L. Wade's wife was Sarah P. Simons/Simmons b bet 1775-1794 d after 1830 GA. They had three children:
Hamlin Lewis/Louis Wade b 1802 d aft 1851 prob Russell Co., AL; two daughters that m brothers - Catherine b bet 1804-1810 GA m James N. Wright; and Sarah P. C. S. Wade b bef. 1810 GA m Abednego A. Wright (jr).

William L. Wade was the son of Benjamin Wade b 1750 VA d 14 Sept 1824 Jasper Co., GA. Benjamin's first wife was probably a Hamlin, and then he m Elizabeth with whom he had seven children that would be 1/2 siblings to your William L. and my (?James) and a Susan who never married. Susan's b 1802 existence in Talbot Co., helped me identify her step-mother Elizabeth L.

The children I have for William and Sarah are these:
F b 1826 GA; f b 1827 GA; f b 1829 GA;
Hamlin Lewis Wade (Jr) b 1835 GA;
F bet 1835-1840;
Robert Augustine Wade b GA d abt 1865 Savannah;
Milo Partker b 1835 Talbot Co., GA;
Sara E. V. Wade b 1842 GA. (and if I understand your posting, there is another daughter b to Nancy and Hamlin.)

I have this migration pattern for Hamlin: 1830 census of Monroe Co., GA; 1836 militia in Talbot Co., GA; 1840 cenus Talbot Co., GA; 1850 could not locate them in AL, although his cousin and my remote Uncle, Hamlin L. was in the 1850 census of Bourbon Co., AL as a "Overseer." (Same profession as his brother my ancestor, James A. Wade, b 1820 GA.)

This latter Hamlin b 1815 was a son of (?James) whom I am still trying to identify all of his children. This Hamlin and his cousin, possible your ancestor records have been scrambled on Internet-have to be used very thoughtfully.

(1850 AL census records need to be researched further for Hamlin Louis/Lewis Wade as I have found this family in various sources as Waite, Waid, Waide, etc. I probably checked for different spelling, but note that I didn't record having done so.)

Since the latter died young, the children were likely passed around and perhaps confuse my finding them in the GA census - just know that the latter's son James A. Wade b 1820, my ancestor, m in Greene Co., GA 26 June 1840, Mary Elizabeth Thompson.

Not easy to present ideas. Hope that we can connect. Look forward to hearing from you. You can see why to some degreen that I haven't responded before, as it has taken me three hours for this posting to make certain that my facts are correct and germane. I had to change the message and facts several times to make it understood, and it still needs rewriting. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

W. Ray Walker
