Not dispositive, but I did notice that there is a "Jonadab" Waite that shows up in Mass. in the 1600's. So perhaps that name is not as descriptive as it might otherwise seem.

I too am searching for a Richard Wade (or perhaps: Waid) who is reportedly from Maryland but moved to Virginia at some point in the early 1800's. He is reported to be the father of Caroline Wade born circa. 1820-22 in Jefferson County, VA, now part of West Virginia. He is also thought to be the father of Solomon C. Waid, reportedly born in PA around 11/1/1805. Solomon's children included a Rosanna.
