Sister of Asa Fobes Wallbridge?
"Mr. Asa Fobes Wallbridge, of Canada, wrote about 1868: "My father took a catalogue of my grandfather (Elijah, b. 1752, d. 1842), of all the Wallbridges from their first landing in America until his time, that was written in a book, and the book was given to my sister. She lives in Illinois, and the book is probably lost."
This quotation was found in an article about Wallbridge genealogy. I have two questions I hope I can get answers to: 1. The chances the book in question is a hand written version of the Wallbridge genealogy or a copy of the history book written by William Gedney Wallbridge? and 2. Clarification as to the reference of a sister of Asa Fobes Wallbridge living in Illinois at the time of the writing in 1868.
Information I have on the family is that Asa Fobes had 3 sisters: Hannah Catherine; Elletta; and Sarah. Elletta was born 1813 aqnd died 1816; Sarah was born 1814 and died 1815; leaving Hannah Catherine who was born 1812 and died 1876 as the only logical choice. She married Leonard Thompson and they lived and raised a family in Darlington County Ontario. I have no reference of her ever living in Illinois. So, hoping someone can solve the mystery of the context of the quote.
