Ruth Waldo was a cousin of my Grandmother Anna Clementine Waldo of San Marcos Texas. Anna was the daughter of John Bennett Waldo of Illinois.

I remember meeting Ruth when I was a teenager. My Grandmother was visiting my parents and we stopped by the Waldo house and visited with Ruth.

If my memory serves me right, Ruth was the first woman VP at the J. Walter Thompson ad agency. (I believe she was the head of women's copy or something like that) As far as I know, she never married. Therefore Waldo was her maiden name.

The house is now owned by the state and is sometimes open to the public. The town of Scotland holds Scottish games there once a year.

There is a book there with the names of her relatives.

Some of the Waldo family lives in the area.
I can recall the name of one of them, Henry Bowers.
