Thanks so much for the information..where can one purchase the book you mentioned? I will certainly get it. I am descended from John Waldo/Rebecca Adams who were parents of Edward Waldo whose wife was Thankful Dimmock; they were parents of John Waldo whose wife was Jemima Abbott; they were parents of Olive Waldo whose spouse was Peter Hartwell; they were parents of Phipps Hartwell.

I had been researching my GGGfather Phipps Hartwell in the Hartwell line and had not gotten into the Cogwells or Waldos too much yet, however, have a lot of info on them...then had to quit for a number of years so am just back..

A couple of questions for you..if your book has an index, I am trying to find the wife of Phipps Hartwell...I only have been able to find Laura, b abt 1794 Granville, Washington, NY as his wife and their daughter Marinda Hartwell, my GGmother. Could you please look in the index for a Phipps Hartwell and his wife. Thank you so much. Also, the Samuel Adams that pops up, is he the Samuel Adams, the firebrand of the American Revolution? Without intensive research, I believe that he was. I also noted a Ralph Waldo Emerson in my line. Again, thank you so much for the info...greatly appreciated.
