Hi, I saw your posting this morning and found the name "Harry Bennett Waldo" in the Waldo genealogy books. Here is what I have:
"William Giles, son of Charles Backus (Ebeneezer, Zacheus, Edward, John, Cornelius) and Mary Jane Wyatt (Bennett) Waldo; born March 22, 1827 at Petersburg, IL. He was educated in the common schools. Being in Texas when that State seceded, he enlisted in the Southern army and served as a private and non-commissioned officer for four years until the close of the war. He settled in Lutesville, Mo., where he was a contractor and builder, but removed later to St. Louis, MO. Since 1884, he has been in the railway mail service. He married, Feb. 18, 1878, at Elkton, Ky., Mary Elizabeth, daughter of James and Margaret E. (Roeves) Humphreys of Elkton; born June 4, 1849 at Elkton. They were living,1898 at St. Louis.
Children of William Giles and Mary Elizabeth (Humphreys) Waldo. Born (A) at Lutesville, Mo., (B & C)at St. Louis, Mo.:
A. Charles William, born Sept. 17, 1882
B. Bertha May, born Oct. 28, 1886
C. HARRY BENNETT, born Sept. 22, 1888.
