Kathi,

Do you have any information on Joseph Waldo, son of Levi Waldo and Hannah White of Hebron, Connecticut? Joseph was born April 1, 1816 in Hebron, Connecticut and died July 8, 1866 in Hamilton, North Carolina. He married Caroline Catherine Yarrell, daughter of Thomas Yarrell and Mary Whitley/Wheatley of Williamston, NC. Joseph is said to be of the 7th generation from Cornelius Waldo who was born abt. 1624 in England.

Joseph & Caroline Catherine had the following children:
Joseph Thomas b. 4/26/1839
Susan Emma b 5/13/1843
Samuel Pearce b 3/15/1845
Mary Catherine b 12/18/1840
Alonza Lucius Amasa b. 2/21/1847
Julius Gilbert b. 1/1/1849
Lucy Ella b. 12/14/1851
Ernest Cornelius 2/2/1855.

This information is from the Heritage Book of North Carolina by Delta Smithwick Burke.

Therre is also mention that this line is connected to the writer Ralph Waldo Emerson.

I would appreciate any information that you have on this line.

Do any of these names appear in your Waldo genealogy?
