Hi Deborah, also willing to share any info. Only have information up to the 1940s on the LI Wansors, back to 1785, then that blasted gap of two or three generations, then Jan (probably) son of Anthony, son of the original immigrant. I'm just amazed none of us has been able to find a link back prior to that late 1700s time period. My great grandmother was Sarah Jane Wansor of Bayville LI; married Townsend Bailey Weeks Sr. of Locust Valley/Oyster Bay LI in 1866. I don't have the Wansor/Wanzer book up here in NY with me - I think it might be available online though. It follows one or two sons of Anthony to Connecticut; one of their lines returned to Long Island not too long after. We were never able to find our line listed in that book. Have you sent for her SS info? If she was single when she applied for SS, her parents' names will be in the records. Funny that my partner's name is Ewing, but his family comes from Rochester NY; his ancestors emigrated from Scotland in the mid 1800s. I'm wishing we could find a female Wansor in our line who could have a mtDNA test done to see if there really is Indian blood there! I recently came into contact with another Wansor/Wanzer on geni.com, at least with her husband. I'm sending him the info I have, will send you the report also.
