Excellent account -- I believe your information to be quite accurate.I can't help you with William Newbold, but I can provide substantial corroboration on Margaret Pope Waples and the John Holmes - Ann Pope marriage. The single most important source is the following:
"Abstracts of the Proceedings of the Orphan's Court of Sussex County, DE; Libers 1,2,3,4,A, 1708-1709, 1728-1777", V. L, Skinner, Jr, Willow Bends Books, Westminster, MD, 2000.See pages 15, 22, 25, 26.
To just touch on a few highlights, the proceedings document that Margaret Pope, widow of Francis Pope, married William Waples and was still married to him in 1734; she had three daughters by Francis Pope:Ann, followed by Margaret and the youngest Frances; all three daughters chose Woodman Stockley as their guardian, Ann and Margaret in 1734 and Frances in 1736 (hence the reason for their cases being before the Orphan's Court); Ann Pope married John "Holms" or "Homes" prior to 1739; and Margaret married a William "Balley" by 1739.
As for Frances, she married Samuel Mountford and had three daughters: Margaret, Mary and Elizabeth.
