Help needed...Fayette County PA troops at Fort McHenry?

I have recently been in touch with extended family. In their branch they have a tradition that a common ancestor served in the War of 1812 at Fort McHenry. This ancestor was from Fayette County PA. The possibility exists that the story's details were mangled by time and memory & that the veteran is actually another family-member or that the service-area is incorrect. How would you go about trying to corraborate this tradition? Are there 1812 Muster Rolls at the PA State Archives? Is there a searchable online database for Fort McHenry troops?

Thanks in advance for any help/tips/advice.
