Eric,

I found Eli, Paschal, and Lewis Watson listed in Capt. John R. Lemmon's Company Roll for the War of 1812. (Paschal is my direct line and the others are his brothers). With one month of service, I assume that they were militia. Do I follow this same procedure to get their records?

I finally found the connection to the War of 1812 when I discovered the land records in Iowa showing that Paschal's widow had sold the land that had been awarded. Now I would like to find out what their military duty consisted of.

Thanks,
Janet
