Eli Bunch under Capt. Samuel Vail's mustered in @ mouth of Cumberland in KY

On Eli Bunch's (b.1795) military pension application for his service in the War or 1812 Francise DOOLEY (middle enitial is M. or JR., I can't make it out) and Wm. GILL, both of Columbia, Maury Co. TN, sign as witnesses to his service. Eli details his mustering in at the mouth of the Cumberland Riverand and floating to N.O., fighting under Jackson, etc. Capt. Samuel Vails.
I'm seeking the names of Eli's parents. I do know Eli's first born son and first born grandson both had Porter as middle names. The Porter family was also in Maury County very early 1800's. I have read online that at least one of the early Maury County Porter men was 6'6" tall, same height as Nimrod Porter Bunch's younger brother James.

Anything you might have to add will be greatly appreciated.
Know anything about Capt. Samuel Vails? Or any of these other names?
Some of Eli Bunch's history: According to his pension application for his service in the War of 1812, he was born and lived all his life in the same place, an area southwest of Nashville which went by many names before it became known as Maury County.
Eli mustered in for service at the mouth of the Cumberland in KY. This Eli Bunch served under Capt. Samuel Vails and is not to be confused with another Eli Bunch who, during roughly the same time period, also fought in the War of 1812 but who came from East Tn and served under Col. Bunch. The Maury County Bunch and the east Tn Bunch were two seperate men with the same name.
Bunch's Mill (later called Green's Mill), of Maury County, was built 1803, 06 or 08, by ISHAM BUNCH.
In 1830 Eli Bunch is listed as Miller and farmer on the census. About Eli Bunch we also know he had between 300 and 400 acres at different times, and at different times between 8 and 10 slaves, sent his five children to school, married Nancy Bullington who came from quite a heritage in Va.
Eli's oldest son was named Nimrod Porter Bunch (when the local Maury County Sheriff Nimrod Porter was only a boy, so it is not likely Bunch named his son for the famous sheriff). The name Nimrod is the name of a hunter from the Bible. Nimrod Porter Bunch also gave the name Porter as a middle name for his first born son. There was a Porter family in early Maury, too.

A Solomon H. Bunch b.1785, NC, (no relationship is confirmed) only arrived in Maury County later, in 1810 or 1811 on some on-line postings, I believe, wrongly credited with building the mill. The author of those postings claims "Isham" must have been Solomon H. Bunch's middle name, though this Solomon H. Bunch's middle name actually began with an "H." His son was named Sol. H. Bunch Jr.

In the hundreds of hours of research I have conducted I cannot find documentation Eli's parents names. Many names are mistakenly published on-line as his parents'. Sources are given that do not exist. The names offered are not found on any record in middle TN at any time (Not in Williamson, Maury, or Davidson, etc) but are found in different states.
Perhaps this Isham Bunch, builder of Bunch's Mill, might have been Eli's father, perhaps. Eli's and Isham's names appear there in what was to become Maury County TN before any other Bunch name. I have discovered that there are Bunches in early Maury County from different Bunch families and from different regions of the country, even at that early date. Not all Bunch families are related as we learn from updated ships' passengers lists.
