;My Ggrandfather, Isaac B. Benson d. 30 March, 1864 in Portland, ME and is buried in the Western Cemetary there. I contacted the lady in charge in hopes she could tell me his birth date. It was a surprize to me when she told me that he is listed as a veteran of the War of 1812! He was born in New Brunswick but lived in Mass. and Maine during his life. I assumed he enlisted in one of these states but learned he was not listed. His father was a Loyalist in the Revolutionary War so I have now decided that, perhaps, Isaac was also. I am hoping that someone has access to military records for New Brunswick as I don't know how to search for them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
